There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (5-6) beat on the road higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (5-6) 80-62 on Saturday. They outrebounded Kirchheim Knights 39-26 including a 12-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Slovakian point guard Simon Krajcovic (188-1994, college: LMU) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Naturalized American Jarelle Reischel (200-1992, college: EKU, agency: LUMANI 10.7) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. American guard Michael Flowers (185-1999, college: WSU) came up with 23 points and the other American import center Tyrone Nash (203-1988, college: Notre Dame) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Kirchheim Knights in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Paderborn and Kirchheim. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will meet Muenster (#13) on the road in the next round. Kirchheim Knights will play against Gladiators in Trier and hope to secure a win.
