Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Besiktas (2-8) lost to third ranked Efes (7-3) in Istanbul 86-99 on Sunday. Efes shot 61.4 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 64.3 percentage. Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-1994, agency: BeoBasket) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 assists to lead the effort and French Rodrigue Beaubois (190-1988, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 25 points. Efes' coach Ergin Ataman used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American Matt Mooney (189-1997, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for Besiktas. His fellow American import guard Jason Rich (191-1986) added 14 points and 6 assists for lost side. Five Efes and four Besiktas players scored in double figures. Efes maintains third position with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Turk Telekom. Besiktas lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Manisa.
