The biggest surprise took place in Vilniaus where host VKKM (9-2) beat league's leader VKM (8-2) 79-74 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of VKM. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 21-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. VKKM dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to VKM's 34. Swingman Tomas Zelenskij (195-2005) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Guard Kristupas Lesciauskas (190-2005) chipped in 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Erikas Vansevicius (188-2005) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists and swingman Arturas Vilutis (193-2005) added 14 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. VKKM maintains first position with 9-2 record. VKM at the other side dropped to the second place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by VKKM. VKM will play next round against strong Saule trying to make it back to the top of the standings. VKKM will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
