Very expected game when 14th ranked Yalova Vip (3-11) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Kirklareli (9-5) 85-53 on Friday. Kirklareli dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Yalova Vip's 22. They outrebounded Yalova Vip 49-29 including a 40-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kirklareli looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Aliyah Mazyck (175-1996, college: USC) who scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). The former international Fahriye Bayraktar (185-1995) chipped in 26 points and 9 rebounds. Kirklareli's coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Miray Uzunoglu produced 11 points and 5 rebounds and center Basak Altunbey (189-1996) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Kirklareli moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Elazig Il. Yalova Vip at the other side dropped to the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Kirklareli will meet at home Edremit (#7) in the next round. Yalova Vip will play against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce G. (#2) and hope to secure a win.
