Regular Season Round 24: Telsiai - Silute 106-67

NKL top team - Telsiai (20-4) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Silute (12-12) 106-67. Telsiai made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Silute turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 64.0 percentage. Telsiai looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by Ovidijus Kaminskis (195-1991) who scored that evening 21 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the former international center Tomas Rimsa (208-1996) supported him with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Four Telsiai players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by point guard Arminas Bergaudas (195-2001) did not help to save the game for Silute. Edgaras Preibys (203-2002) added 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Telsiai maintains first position with 20-4 record. Loser Silute keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Telsiai will meet Mazeikiai (#5) on the road in the next round. Silute will play against Palanga and hope to secure a win.
