Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Silute (13-12) won against at home 10th ranked Palanga (9-16) 78-72 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Silute outrebounded Palanga 44-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. Canadian guard Jalen Warren (188-1999, college: UIC) nailed 24 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Ukrainian Yevgen Balaban (203-1996, agency: BIG) accounted for 16 points and 9 rebounds. Silute's coach Simonas Serapinas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Zac Owens (180-1998, college: Bethel, IN) came up with 20 points and point guard Ernestas Jaskus (195-2000) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Palanga in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Silute maintains sixth place with 13-12 record. Loser Palanga keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Stekas. Silute will meet Atletas (#7) in the next round. Palanga will play against Mazeikiai and hope to secure a win.
