Regular Season Round 16: Lich Basketball - Bensheim 81-79

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Bensheim (5-11) was edged on the road by eighth ranked Licher Basket (8-8) 81-79 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Licher Basket outrebounded Bensheim 46-34 including 34 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-1997) who scored that evening 21 points and 8 rebounds and Felix-Frederik Schweizer supported him with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 21 points by Felix Becker did not help to save the game for Bensheim. Canadian Michael Agyemang added 9 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Four Bensheim players scored in double figures. Licher Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Bensheim dropped to the eleventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Limburg. Licher Basket will meet Limburg (#11) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Bensheim will play against Kronberg and hope to secure a win.
