Regular Season Round 12: Vilniaus univ. - Kibirkstis-VKM 71-62

First defeat of league's leader Kibirkstis-VKM (4-1) against third ranked Vilniaus univ. (9-3) 71-62 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Kibirkstis-VKM. Vilniaus univ. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Kibirkstis-VKM's 32. Vilniaus univ. forced 20 Kibirkstis-VKM turnovers. It was a good game for center Emilija Grigaliunaite (190-2002) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Austeja Sirsinaityte (166-1995) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Vilniaus univ. players scored in double figures. Vilniaus univ.'s coach Loreta Berukstiene used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Sintija Aukstikalnyte (175-2006) replied with 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Eva Pernavaite (171-2005) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Kibirkstis-VKM. Despite that victory Vilniaus univ. went down to fourth position due to points difference. Kibirkstis-VKM at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Alytaus.
