Regular Season Round 16: Saule - Tornado KM 57-64

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Tornado KM (9-7) beat 4th ranked Saule (10-5) in Siauliai 64-57 on Tuesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-11. But Saule won second period 13-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Saule 51-39 including 20 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by power forward Emilis Baltrimavicius (203-2005) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 10 points and 17 rebounds and Armandas Bancevicius (-2006) supported him with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four Tornado KM players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 5 assists by point guard Deividas Zukauskas (162-2005) did not help to save the game for Saule. Joris Kacinskas (-2005) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory Tornado KM went down to sixth position due to points difference, which they share with Zalgiris II. Loser Saule keeps the fourth place with five games lost. Tornado KM will meet Birzu (#10) in the next round. Saule will play against Marijampoles (#11) and hope to secure a win.
