Regular Season Round 15: Kedainiu - Akmenes P. 58-64

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Akmenes P. (3-11) beat on the road 8th ranked Kedainiu (6-9) 64-58 on Thursday. Akmenes P. forced 29 Kedainiu turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Ruta Silinyte (172-1993) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Liveta Novogreckyte (170-2004) accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Akmenes P.'s coach Saulius Momkauskas used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Agne Antanaviciute (186-1994) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds and center Brigita Turskyte (182-1999) added 7 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Kedainiu in the defeat. Akmenes P. maintains tenth place with 3-11 record. Newly promoted Kedainiu keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Akmenes P. will meet at home higher ranked Vilniaus univ. (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kedainiu will have a break next round.
