Very important is a home loss of third ranked Artland Dragons (14-8) against seventeenth ranked Duesseldorf (7-14) on Sunday night. Host Artland Dragons were defeated by Duesseldorf in Quakenbrueck 82-70. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Artland Dragons. American guard CJ Anderson (197-1996, college: UMass, agency: One Motive Sports) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Lennart Boner (209-1993) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward DeVondre Perry (196-1999, college: Albany) responded with 15 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Croatian center Marko Bacak (210-1995) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Duesseldorf moved-up to sixteenth place. Loser Artland Dragons keep the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Hagen. Duesseldorf will meet at home higher ranked Phoenix Hagen (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Artland Dragons will play against Schwenningen and hope to secure a win.
