Regular Season Round 19: Druskininku - Vilniaus univ. 53-73

Bottom-ranked Druskininku is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 14th consecutive match to fourth ranked Vilniaus univ. (13-3) 73-53 on Wednesday evening. It was an exceptional evening for center Ieva Savickaite (191-1996) who led the winners and scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Ausrine Belickaite (170-2001) accounted for 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Emilija Dapkunaite came up with 11 points and Eimante Stepanaviciute added 5 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Druskininku in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Vilniaus univ.. They moved-up to second place. Druskininku lost their fourteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Vilniaus univ. will meet at home Kedainiu (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Druskininku will have a break next round.
