Regular Season Round 21: Rivne - Pereyaslav 110-69

Rather predictable result when third ranked Rivne (16-5) smashed at home 5th ranked Pereyaslav (2-15) 110-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Rivne. Pereyaslav managed to win third quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Rivne dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Pereyaslav's 38. Rivne forced 26 Pereyaslav turnovers and had a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Rivne looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Pereyaslav's players. The best player for the winners was Daryna Stepaniuk (175-1996) who scored 18 points and 8 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Vladyslava Kiba (177-2002, agency: BIG) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Five Rivne players scored in double figures. Rivne's coach Valeriy Zhartun felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Anna Yarosh (180-2005) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and 12 rebounds and forward Tetyana Bashtova (179-1993) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Rivne have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Pereyaslav lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Rivne will again meet at home Pereyaslav (#5) in the next round. Pereyaslav will have a break next round.
