Regular Season Round 23: Kyiv Basket - Rivne 56-66

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kyiv Basket (13-7) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Rivne (18-5) 66-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kyiv Basket. The game was mostly controlled by Rivne. Kyiv Basket managed to win third quarter 20-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kyiv Basket 51-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. Vladyslava Kiba (177-2002, agency: BIG) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Liudmyla Spyrydonova (179-1984) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Rivne players scored in double figures. Rivne's coach Valeriy Zhartun used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Anastasiia Liubenska (177-2006) answered with 16 points and 5 assists and swingman Mariya Tkach (180-1992) added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Kyiv Basket. Rivne have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-5 record having three points less than leader Kyiv Basket.
