Regular Season Round 1: Vilkaviskis - Stekas 88-60

An interesting game was played in Vilnius where Vilkaviskis crushed host Stekas with 28-point difference 88-60 on Thursday evening. Vilkaviskis dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Stekas' 28. They outrebounded Stekas 50-26 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rokas Stankevicius (202-1995, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 22 points and 4 assists for the winners and American-Nigerian guard Ajare Sanni (190-2000, college: UCSB) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Paulius Semaska (184-1993) responded with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Justas Sinica (203-1985) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vilkaviskis will meet at home Silute in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Stekas' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Vilnius to the arena Rytas 2.
