Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Speyer and 13th ranked Breitenguessbach had identical 1-2 record. But Breitenguessbach was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Speyer 86-61 on Saturday night. Speyer dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Breitenguessbach's 28. Worth to mention a great performance of center David Aichele (212-1999) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and American DJ Woodmore (190-1992, college: VWU) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side point guard Timo Dippold (188-1997) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and Jonas Klaus scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Breitenguessbach's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Speyer (2-2) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 11 other teams. Newly promoted Breitenguessbach dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with 8 other teams. Speyer will meet at home Bayern (#7) in the next round. Breitenguessbach will play against Kangaroos in Diedorf and hope to win that game.
