Regular Season Round 9: Lich Basketball - Hanau 141-74

Everything went according to plan when ninth rankedLich Basketball (4-4) outscored at home 13th ranked Hanau (1-6) 141-74 on Saturday. Lich Basketball dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Hanau 's 38. They outrebounded Hanau 46-20 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lich Basketball shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 44 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Hanau 's players. The best player for the winners was Felix-Frederik Schweizer who had a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international Johannes Lischka (203-1987) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Five Lich Basketball players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Tom Arkan (189-2005) who recorded 32 points and naturalized Ghanian forward Cedric Quarshie (194-1983) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lich Basketball moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Soeflingen. Hanau lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Treuchtlingen. Lich Basketball will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hanau will play against Saarlouis (#11) and hope to win that game.
