One of the most interesting games of round 17 was a derby match between two teams from Lithuania. The game took place in Kaunas where fifth rankedKibirkstis-MRU won against host Aistes-LSMU (6-4) 81-74 . Kibirkstis-MRU forced 19 Aistes-LSMU turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Point guard Dalia Donskichyte (169-2000) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for the winners and point guard Gabriele Sulske (177-1990) chipped in 8 points and 8 assists. Four Kibirkstis-MRU players scored in double figures. Gintare Paulauskaite (185-1995) responded with 25 points and 8 rebounds and forward Gintare Mazionyte (186-1991, college: Texas) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Aistes-LSMU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kibirkstis-MRU have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Lithuanian champion (7-2) moved-up to third place. Aistes-LSMU at the other side dropped to the seventh position with four games lost.
