Brendan Winters buried the decisive basket leading Giants Dusseldorf to an 85-83 comeback win over EnBW Ludwigsburg Saturday night at Burg-Wachter-Costello Arena in Dusseldorf. Matt Lottich topscored with 19pt 3-4threes, Gordon Geib 16pt 4reb 5ast, Winters 12pt 5reb, Pete Campbell 11pt 4reb and Todd Hendley 10 in the team win. Dusseldorf started strong outscoring Ludwigsburg 19-14 in the 1Q before the guests rallied for a 30-15 2Q and a 44-34 halftime lead. An even 3Q sent action into the final 10min with Ludwigsburg leading 65-57. A terrific 4Q comeback from Head Coach Achim Kuczmann's men, who have been an excellent second half team this season, resulted in a 28-17 4Q and exciting win. Brandon Woudstra paced Ludwigsburg with 19pts 4reb 3-3 threes followed by 14pt4reb from Deangelo Alexander, 11pt 7ast from Brian Jones and 10pt 4reb 2-3 threes from Dane Watts. For the game, Dusseldorf shot 46% from the floor and from the thre point line (12-26) while sinking 17 of 20 FT (85%). Ludwigsburg also shot well making 50% from the floor and 10 for 18 from three (55%) but 14 of 21 FT (67%). Dusseldorf improved to 3-1 while Ludwigsburg slipped to 4-2.
