Regular Season Round 4: Levski Sofia - Rilski Sportist 92-87

Levski defeated Rilski Sportist in the derby game of the 4th round in Men NBL. The players of Titi Papazov won a difficult game by 92-87 and recorded their third straight win. In the first six minutes the game was even but then Levski pulled away and took a 22-15 lead after the first quarter. In the second one there was a lot of scoring as the teams scored a total of 31 points. In the middle of it Levski was up by 8 but after a triple by Simeon Naydenov with 11 seconds to go in the half the score was tied. Zlatin Georgiev then scored with the buzzer to make the score 51-49 at the break. With 5.19 to play in the third quarter 'The Blues' were up 61-58 but a 10-0 run by the visitors gave them a 61-68 lead. Quickly though Levski tied the game at 68 but the third quarter finished with Rilski ahead - 70-72. The last quarter was very interesting as the winner was unknown until the final moments. Rilski took an 80-83 lead after Aleksandar Gruev triple but Aaron Harper scored 8 straight points and Levski was up 88-83. With 8 seconds to go Levski was up 90-87 and Rilski had a chance to tie the game. Aleksandar Ugrinoski made a bad pass and Stanislav Slaveykov took the ball and after he made two free throws the game was over. Aaron Harper was the top scorer in the game with 30 points adding also 2 assists and 2 steals. Donald Cole (204-C-81, agency: Edge Sports, college: Sam Houston St.) had very good game with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists as Stefan Georgiev made a double double - 10 points and 11 rebounds. For the visitors top scorers was Aleksandar Gruev with 23 points while Aleksandar Ugrinoski had very good game with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. (by Valentin Anguelov)
