Regular Season Round 4: Balkan - Spartak Pleven 64-52

Balkan took a 12-point advantage in the first half and during the second managed to hold on to it and recorded second win of the season in front of the home fans. This time the victim was Spartak Pleven and the result 64-52. 'The Greens' started better the game and took a 20-11 lead after the first quarter. In the second following a 9-0 run the hosts were up by 15. They managed to keep their good advantage until the end of the first half and were in front 33-21. After the break the hosts maintained their good lead. It went up to 17 points at one point but then 4 straight points for the visitors made the score 52-39 after three quarters. The last one was no different from the others. Both teams scored a total of 25 points, 12-13 but this didn't change the situation on the field and Balkan took its second win of the season. Atanas Radev (200-F-81) had 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Jordan Bozov had 9 points and 11 rebounds. For the visitors the only player to score in double figures was Tsvetoslav Ostrev - 12 points. Hrisimir Dimitrov and Vladimir Marinov scored 7 points apiece but overall this was a poor game, especially on offense, for Spartak. In the next round in Pleven, Spartak will have even tougher task. The team will host the champions from Lukoil Academic while Balkan will travel to Samokov to meet Rilski Sportist. (by Valentin Anguelov)
