Regular Season Round 8: Lukoil Academik - Levski Sofia 72-92

Levski is now first in the standings after defeating the champion Lukoil Academic in Pravets 92-72. The Blues not only took revenge for the loss in the first round but really did it in a style and totally outplayed their opponent. The game was like the first one in Sofia when Lukoil Acaedmic dominated for most part. The roles though this time changed. Levski was the better team in the first 25 minutes but still the hosts didn't let them pull away. In the middle of the third quarter the score was tied, 57-57 but then came the strong moments for the visitors as they were much better in the last 15 minutes and finished with 20 points in advantage. A Donald Cole three-pointer capped a 16-0 run that made the score 57-73. Lukoil did cut the deficit to 9 points but the hosts didn't do more and at the end lost by a big margin. Aaron Harper was the top scorer for Levski with 23 points and Bobby Frazer and Donald Cole added 15 and 14 respectively. Very good game had Stefan Georgiev who scored some important baskets and finished with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Isaal Wells was the top scorer for Lukoil with 18 points, Walker Russell had 14 and 10 assists and Ernest Brown 11 points and 15 rebounds. (by Valentin Anguelov)
