Regular Season Round 7: Jaguares - Pioneros 87-115

Leader Pioneros delivered the twentieth seventh victory. This time they crushed 17th ranked Jaguares (2-31) 115-87 in Nayarit. They outrebounded Jaguares 29-2 including a 22-1 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Nathan Brumfield (196-86, college: Oklahoma Baptist) who helped to win the game recording 24 points (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). His fellow American import guard Jeremiah Dominguez (168-85, college: Portland St.) contributed with 18 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Pioneros' coach Alberto Espasandin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jermaine Johnson (201-85, college: Charleston) answered with 19 points and 6 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and naturalized American guard Mark Strom (193-82, college: Apprentice) added 16 points in the effort for Jaguares. Five Pioneros and four Jaguares players scored in double figures. Pioneros maintains first place with 27-9 record, which they share with Fuerza Regia. Newly promoted Jaguares keep the seventeenth position with 31 games lost. Pioneros will play against Panteras (#13) in Aguascalientes in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jaguares will play at home against Volcanes (#18) in Toluca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
