Regular Season Round 8: Huracanes - Lechugueros 78-76

Date: September 25, 2010
Another very interesting game took place in Tampico. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Lechugueros (22-14) to ninth ranked Huracanes (22-14) 78-76 in the game for the seventh place. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American swingman Mike Smith (201-76, college: La-Monroe) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Huracanes has a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lechugueros and Lobos Grises. Huracanes will meet Ola Verde (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Lechugueros will play against Angeles (#6) in Puebla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
