Another very interesting game took place in Gwynneville. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Townsville Crocodiles (10-7) to fourth ranked Wollongong Hawks (9-7) 71-70 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Townsville Crocodiles. Wollongong Hawks brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. American guard Gary Ervin (186-83, college: Arkansas) saved the victory by scoring 25 points. The former international forward Oscar Forman (205-82) contributed with 12 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international center Luke Schenscher (216-82, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Priority Sports) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Michael Cedar (195-86) added 8 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Townsville Crocodiles. Townsville Crocodiles' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Wollongong Hawks went down to fifth position due to points difference. Townsville Crocodiles at the other side dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Wollongong Hawks will play against Adelaide 36ers (#7) in Findon in the next round. Townsville Crocodiles will play at home against Kings (#9) in Sydney and hope to get back on the winning track.
