Date: November 7, 2010
The game in Melbourne was quite interesting. Fourth ranked Wollongong Hawks (9-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Melbourne Tigers (5-10). Wollongong Hawks managed to secure a 4-point victory 86-82 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Melbourne Tigers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Glen Saville (197-76) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals and the former international forward Oscar Forman (205-82) who added 21 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Wollongong Hawks players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Gary Wilkinson (206-82, college: Utah St.) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Eric Devendorf (193-87, college: Syracuse) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Despite that victory Wollongong Hawks went down to fifth position due to points difference. Loser Melbourne Tigers dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Wollongong Hawks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Melbourne Tigers will play again against Wollongong Hawks (#5) in Gwynneville and hope to secure a win.
