I am not sure if we can call it an upset between close teams ended when 4th placed Angeles (15-7) lost to fifth ranked Fuerza Regia (16-7) in Puebla 89-78. American guard Demetric Shaw (191-78, college: Kent St.) orchestrated the victory with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Bahamas forward Mitchell Johnson (196-85, college: Jarvis Christian) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Venezuelan center Luis Bethelmy (200-86) answered with double-double 17 points and 10 rebounds and Venezuelan guard Diego Guevara (184-77, college: Charlotte) added 21 points (made all of his eight free throws) for Angeles. Coach Nelson Solorzano let to play 10 players saving starting five for next games. Fuerza Regia has an impressive series of five victories in a row. Fuerza Regia (16-7) jumped to the fourth spot. They share that position with Halc.Rojos. Angeles dropped to the sixth place with 15-7 record. Fuerza Regia are looking forward to the next round to face Titanes (#15) in Mexico City which should be an easy walk for them. Angeles will play on the road against league's second-placed Toros (#2) hoping to win this game.
