Regular Season Round 6: Breakers - Hawks 57-73

Top ranked New Zealand Breakers (12-3) recorded its third loss in Auckland on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked Wollongong Hawks (9-7) 73-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of New Zealand Breakers. They outrebounded New Zealand Breakers 43-29 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by New Zealand Breakers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Oscar Forman (205-82) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. The former international swingman Glen Saville (197-76) chipped in 7 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard CJ Bruton (188-75, college: Indian Hills CC) who recorded 7 points and 4 assists and American guard Kevin Braswell (188-79, college: Georgetown, agency: Priority Sports) added 12 points respectively. Despite that victory Wollongong Hawks went down to fifth position due to points difference. New Zealand Breakers at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. Wollongong Hawks are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Kings (#9) in Sydney in the next round. New Zealand Breakers will play at home against Gold Coast Blaze (#6) in Broadbeach and are hoping to win this game.
