Regular Season Round 6: Taipans - 36ers 87-71

Date: November 20, 2010
The game with biggest result difference took place in Cairns. Local Cairns Taipans (9-4) beat 6th ranked Adelaide 36ers (5-9) 87-71. Cairns Taipans made 25-of-26 charity shots (96.2 percent) during the game. American guard Ayinde Ubaka (193-85, college: California) notched 21 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and British-New Zealand guard Phill Jones (196-74) supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Five Cairns Taipans players scored in double figures. Even 17 points by the former international forward Adam Ballinger (205-79, college: Michigan St.) did not help to save the game for Adelaide 36ers. American guard Craig Winder (188-84, college: Texas, agency: Prossin Sports Management) added 10 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cairns Taipans has a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Cairns Taipans went down to fourth position due to points difference. Adelaide 36ers at the other side dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. Cairns Taipans' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Perth Wildcats on the road and it may be the game of the week.
