The biggest surprise in round 5 of A1 took place in Thessaloniki between Top Four teams. It ended with Peristeri GS (3-2) road victory over 3rd placed Aris (3-2) 80-70. The best player for the winner was Antiguan-American power forward Kurt Looby (208-84, college: Iowa) who had 7 points and 17 rebounds. American forward Ernest Scott (201-82, college: Valdosta St., agent: Brian Elfus) helped with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Former international forward Christos Tapoutos (208-82) produced 22 points and 5 assists and American forward P.J. Tucker (198-85, college: Texas) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Coach Sharon Drucker tried in this game 10 players giving the chance to rest for starting five. Thanks to that win Peristeri GS moved-up to third place which they share with defeated Aris. Peristeri GS's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena AEK.
