Regular Season Round 24: Lechugueros - Soles 98-71

Date: November 20, 2010
There was a small upset in Leon where 9th ranked Soles (12-12) was crushed by eleventh ranked Lechugueros (11-13) 98-71. Worth to mention a great performance of Jamaican guard Ricky Johns (193-85, college: Utah) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 5 assists and American swingman Mike Smith (201-76, college: La-Monroe) who added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was Panamanian-Spanish power forward Ruben Garces (206-73, college: Providence, agent: Brad Ames) with double-double 21 points and 13 rebounds and former international forward Hector Hernandez (206-85, college: Fresno St.) with 8 points and 4 assists. Coach Dan Tacheny tried in this game 10 players giving the chance to rest for starting five. Despite the victory Lechugueros stay at eleventh position. Soles (12-12) on the other side took ninth place as they recorded their twelfth loss. Lechugueros are looking forward to the next round to face higher ranked Lobos Grises (#8) in Durango and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Soles will play at home against league's new leader Halc.Xalapa being definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
