Regular Season Round 8: Valencia - CAI Zaragoza 83-72

Date: November 21, 2010
An interesting game was also surprising road defeat of higher ranked CAI Zaragoza (#11) in a game versus Valencia (#18) 72-83. The winners were led by Serbian power forward Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agent: Misko Raznatovic) who had that evening 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and international power forward Victor Claver (207-88) who supported him with 22 points. Even 16 points and 4 assists by Argentinian-Italian guard Paolo Quinteros (186-79) did not help to save the game for CAI Zaragoza. Both coaches tested many bench players allowing starting five to get some rest. CAI Zaragoza lost their third game in a row. Valencia (2-6) jumped to the fifteenth spot. They share that position with Manresa and Granada. CAI Zaragoza dropped to the eleventh place with 3-5 record. They have the same record like Cajasol, Menorca and Estudiantes. Valencia will meet next round higher ranked Lagun Aro GBC (#6) and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. CAI Zaragoza will play against Estudiantes (#12) hoping for a come back to a winning shape.
