Regular Season Round 4: Aris - Panathinaikos 72-52

The most shocking disappointment of round 4 was road defeat of 3rd ranked Panathinaikos by sixth ranked Aris who outscored them by 20 points 52-72. It ended the series of three consecutive victories of Panathinaikos. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Stefany Skrba (188-87, college: Michigan) who helped to win the game recording double-double 14 points and 12 rebounds and British guard Chantelle Handy (191-87, college: Marshall) who added 21 points (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Aris' coach Kostas Kotoulis allowed to play his deep bench players and giving the chance to rest for starting five. At the losing side Romanian forward Gabriela Marginean (185-87, college: Drexel) responded with 17 points and American guard Jennifer Derevjanik (175-82, college: George Mason) with 6 points (perfect from downtown making all six shots !!!). Despite the victory Aris (2-2) stay at sixth position. Panathinaikos (3-1) on the other side took second place as they recorded their first loss. Aris are looking forward to the next round to face bottom-ranked Amarillida (#12) on the road where they are favorite. Panathinaikos' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Athens Panionios.
