Regular Season Round 4: Panionios - Apollon Ptol. 63-52

Very expected game in Athens where 10th ranked Apollon (1-3) was defeated by fifth ranked Panionios (3-1) 63-52. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Meg Tierny (190-81) who helped to win the game recording double-double 10 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Avgoustina Rousou (186-78) who added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Panionios' coach Gavrilos Kalogeropoulos used 10-player rotation saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) responded with double-double 16 points and 16 rebounds and guard Aglaia Karadima (183-82) with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Apollon (1-3) added third loss to their record. That victory allowed Panionios (3-1) to climb to second place. They share it with DAS Ano Liosa, Panathinaikos and Esperides. Apollon (1-3) on the other side took eighth position. Panionios' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Athens to the arena Panathinaikos.
