There was a small upset when 14th ranked Lleida (4-7) was defeated at home by sixteenth ranked CB Tarragona (3-8) 81-74. The best player for the winner was American forward Alexander Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) who had 25 points. Senegalese center Michel Diouf (208-89) helped with 12 points and 6 rebounds. American center Dwayne Curtis (203-85, college: Mississippi, agent: Goran Gramatikov) produced double-double 18 points and 12 rebounds and his countryman guard Corey Brewer (188-75, college: Oklahoma) added 12 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Lleida's coach Jose Maria Raventos tried 10 players and giving the chance to rest for starting five. Lleida (4-7) added fourth loss to their record. Thanks to that win CB Tarragona moved-up to fifteenth place. Lleida dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. They share it with La Laguna and Clinicas Rincon. CB Tarragona are looking forward to the next round to face higher ranked Burgos (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lleida will play against La Palma (#6) hoping to win this game.
