Regular Season Round 26: Huracanes - Jaguares 84-66

Not a big story in a game in Tampico where 17th ranked Jaguares (2-31) were defeated by ninth ranked Huracanes (22-14) 84-66 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American power forward Robert Hornsby (196-82, college: Troy) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import center Albert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. Huracanes' coach used entire bench saving starting five for next games. American forward Fred Hooks (198-82, college: Humboldt St.) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Bahamas guard Ray Rose (183-83, college: Olivet Nazarene) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the guests. Five Huracanes and four Jaguares players scored in double figures. They has a solid three-game winning streak. Huracanes moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Lechugueros and Lobos Grises. Newly promoted Jaguares keep the seventeenth position with 31 games lost. Huracanes will face Ola Verde (#12) in Poza Rica in the next round where they are favorite. Jaguares will play at home against Soles (#10) in Mexicali.
