Regular Season Round 5: TSU Tbilisi - Rustavi 74-90

There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 5 most important game was defeat of league's leader TSU Tbilisi. They were badly beaten at home by sixth ranked Energy Rustavi 90-74. It ended the series of four consecutive victories of TSU Tbilisi. Guard Beka Tsivtsivadze (190-89) stepped up with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Cameroonian center Samuel Lamu (204-81) helped with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Center Richard Matiashvili (209-89) responded with double-double 24 points and 12 rebounds and center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. That victory allowed current champions Energy Rustavi (3-2) to climb to fourth place. They share it with Batumi and Sokhumi. TSU Tbilisi (4-1) on the other side went down to second position as they recorded their first loss. TSU Tbilisi will play next round against strong Army trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena of Army. Energy Rustavi will try to continue on it's current victory especially that they will have a break next round on the road.
