Rather predictable result in Poza Rica where eleventh ranked Ola Verde (15-15) beat 13th ranked Panteras (13-20) 97-81 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Bahamas forward Aaron Eneas (202-78, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) chipped in 30 points. Four Ola Verde players scored in double figures. Ola Verde's coach used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Panamanian power forward Antonio Garcia (203-76, college: Ky Wesleyan) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists and Puerto Rican guard Ricardo Melendez (180-83) added 29 points respectively for the guests. Despite that victory Ola Verde went down to twelfth position due to points difference. Panteras lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 20 games lost. Ola Verde will face higher ranked Huracanes (#8) in Tampico in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Panteras will play at home against Potros (#11) in Ciudad Obregon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
