The biggest surprise of 17th round was when host Pyrinto's (#2) easy victory at home over league's leader KTP (15-2) 89-74. It also means that the series of eleven victories in a row of KTP ended. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winner was forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo) who had double-double 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Kenneth Lowe (192-80, college: Purdue, agent: Chris Warren) chipped in 22 points. Pyrinto's coach Pieti Poikola used 10-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) produced 20 points and forward Jerald Fields (201-82, college: E.Tenn.St., agent: Chris Kupcunas) added 7 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the guests. Pyrinto (13-4) have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place having just two points less than leader KTP. KTP still keep top position with two games lost. Pyrinto are looking forward to the next round to face higher ranked Honka in Espoo. KTP will play at home against Karhu and are hoping to win this game.
