Regular Season Round 8: Blaze - Kings 85-68

Date: December 3, 2010
No shocking result in a game in Broadbeach where seventh ranked Gold Coast Blaze (6-9) defeated bottom-ranked Kings (1-14) 85-68. Gold Coast Blaze brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American power forward Ira Clark (203-75, college: Texas) who scored that evening 29 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Mark Worthington (202-83, college: Metro St.) supported him with 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Gold Coast Blaze players scored in double figures. Even 22 points and 9 rebounds by the former international center Julian Khazzouh (211-86) did not help to save the game for Kings. Swingman Graeme Dann (204-83) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Kings' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gold Coast Blaze moved-up to sixth place. Kings lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 14 games lost. Gold Coast Blaze's next round opponent will be higher ranked Townsville Crocodiles (#3) in Wulguru and it may be quite challenging game. Kings will play at home against Wollongong Hawks (#5) in Gwynneville.
