There was a minor upset in Azpeitia where 12th ranked Leyma Basquet (3-8) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Lan Mobel ISB (3-7) 76-71. It was a great evening for American forward Anthony Paez (198-84, college: Stephen F. Austin, agent: John Ebeling) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Reginald Bratton (193-86, college: Lenoir-Rhyne) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Four Lan Mobel ISB players scored in double figures. American guard Bradd Wierzbicki (191-85, college: Queens (NY)) responded with 16 points and center Victor Hidalgo (204-86, agent: Oscar Garcia) scored 10 points. Leyma Basquet's coach tested ten players in such tough game. The victory allowed Lan Mobel ISB (3-7) who are in their first season in the LEB Silver to climb to twelfth place. They share it with Avila. Leyma Basquet who is 3-8 went down to fourteenth position as they suffered their eighth loss. Lan Mobel ISB will face higher ranked Santurtzi (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
