There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Gold Coast Blaze (6-9) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Melbourne Tigers (5-10) 82-78. Gold Coast Blaze was ahead by 6 points after three quarters before a 18-8 charge of Melbourne Tigers, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Gold Coast Blaze's 32. They outrebounded Gold Coast Blaze 41-27 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Jamaican-American guard Corey Williams (191-77, college: Alabama St.) who scored that evening 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Eric Devendorf (193-87, college: Syracuse) supported him with 18 points.
