Regular Season Round 20: Pezinok - Inter Bratislava 93-78
Date: December 4, 2010
There was no surprise when 10th ranked Inter Bratislava (7-12) was defeated on the road by third ranked Pezinok (13-6) 93-78. The game rather controlled by Pezinok. Inter Bratislava managed to win fourth quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pezinok made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Jessie Sapp (191-86, college: Georgetown) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 assists and forward Richard Urland (195-84) who supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Even 16 points and 7 rebounds by swingman Miroslav Zilik (197-89) did not help to save the game for Inter Bratislava. Guard Richard Kucsa (189-85) added 17 points for the guests. Five Pezinok and four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Defending champion keeps a leadership league leader, which they share with Nitra and Nova Ves. Inter Bratislava at the other side dropped to the ninth place with twelve games lost. Pezinok's next round opponent will be Levice (#7) on the road where they are favorite. Inter Bratislava will play against Svit and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
