Regular Season Round 28: Fuerza Regia - Pioneros 88-91

The most exciting game of round 28 in the LNBP took place in Monterrey. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of one of their biggest challengers Fuerza Regia (27-9) to first ranked Pioneros (27-9) 91-88 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Fuerza Regia. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 29-22 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Gregory Grays (185-79, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Interperformances) fired 18 points for the winners. Center Rammel Allen (210-79, college: Bridgeport) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Jeremis Smith (203-86, college: Georgia Tech) produced 26 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Samuel Bowie (198-75, college: SE Louisiana) added 22 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Pioneros maintains first position with 27-9 record, which they share with defeated Fuerza Regia. Pioneros is looking forward to face Panteras (#13) in Aguascalientes in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fuerza Regia will play on the road against Halcones Rojos (#4) in Veracruz and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
