There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Benetton TV (4-4) won on the road against higher ranked CS Bologna (4-4) 79-69. The best player for the winners was American swingman Devin Smith (196-81, college: Virginia) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Lithuanian center Donatas Motiejunas (213-90, agent: Luciano Capicchioni) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Five Benetton TV players scored in double figures. Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (193-88) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Bulgarian center Jared Homan (206-83, college: Iowa St.) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Benetton TV has a solid three-game winning streak comparing to three consecutive losses by CS Bologna. Benetton TV jumped to the seventh spot. They share the position with four other teams including defeated CS Bologna. Benetton TV's opponent will be Angelico BI (#10) in Biella in the next round.
