Leader New Zealand Breakers delivered the twelfth victory. This time they beat 9th ranked Kings (1-14) 94-80 in Sydney. The game was mostly controlled by New Zealand Breakers. Kings managed to win third quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. New Zealand Breakers players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international guard CJ Bruton (188-75, college: Indian Hills CC) orchestrated the victory by scoring 23 points and 5 assists. Fiji-New Zealand forward Mika Vukona (197-82) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. The former international center Julian Khazzouh (211-86) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Patrick Sanders (198-85, college: Cal-Irvine) added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Kings. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. New Zealand Breakers maintains first position with 12-3 record. Kings lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. New Zealand Breakers will play against Cairns Taipans (#4) at home in the next round. Kings will play against Wollongong Hawks (#5) in Gwynneville to get more than just one victory in their record.
