Korisliiga top team - KTP-Basket (16-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat sixth ranked Kauhajoen Karhu in Kotka 92-76. American forward Jerald Fields (201-82, college: E.Tenn.St., agent: Chris Kupcunas) scored 27 points and 7 rebounds to led the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Jeb Ivey (190-80, college: Portland St.) chipped in 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agent: Side Court) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and international forward Vesa Makalainen (200-86) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Kauhajoen Karhu's coach rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. KTP-Basket of course still keeps top position in the standings. Kauhajoen Karhu dropped to the seventh place with 9-9 record. They have the same record like ToPo. KTP-Basket's will play against Joensuun Kataja (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kauhajoen Karhu will play against Espoon Honka (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
