Regular Season Round 10: Keflavik - Tindastoll 82-76

Very predictable result when third ranked Keflavik (7-3) defeated at home 10th ranked Tindastoll (3-7) 82-76 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Keflavik trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually win the game 82-76. Keflavik looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. International guard Axel Vilhjalmsson (188-88) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Lazar Trifunovic (203-87, college: Radford) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Keflavik's coach Gudjon Skulason used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Hayward Fain (196, college: St.Augustine, agency: Strategic Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and American-Dutch guard Sean Cunningham (188-86, college: Cal-Riverside, agency: R.H.Consultancy) added 19 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Keflavik has a solid four-game winning streak. Despite the victory they stay at third position having just two points less than leader Snaefell. Tindastoll is currently in tenth place with a 3-7 record as they suffered their seventh loss. Keflavik will meet league's second-placed Grindavik on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Tindastoll will play against Njardvik (#8) in Njardvik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
