There was no surprise when 17th ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (3-10) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Girona FC (6-7) 78-57. The game without a history. Girona FC lead from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a very good performance for swingman David Navarro (192-83) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Croatian power forward Mateo Kedzo (207-84) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Girona FC players scored in double figures. American forward Alexander Franklin (196-88, college: Siena) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Alejandro Alba (193-77) added 11 points in the effort for CB Tarragona 2017. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players seeing no chance for a win. Despite the victory Girona FC stay at ninth position. CB Tarragona 2017 is currently in sixteenth place with a 3-10 record as they suffered their tenth loss. Girona FC's next round opponent will be higher ranked UB La Palma (#8) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. CB Tarragona 2017 will play against the league's leader Obradoiro CAB (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
