There was no surprise in Ciudad Obregon where 16th ranked Titanes (8-27) were crushed by eleventh ranked Potros (17-19) 115-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Potros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Titanes to just 7 points in first quarter. Potros dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Titanes' 34. Potros forced 21 Titanes turnovers and outrebounded them 36-23 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Potros looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Titanes' players. The best player for the winners was British V.Islands center Kleon Penn (211-86, college: McNeese St., agency: Paris Global Sports) who scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Franco Harris (183-83, college: Boise St.) chipped in 10 points and 6 assists. Penn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Five Potros players scored in double figures. Potros' coach Dan Tacheny felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Cameroonian forward Salomon Angounou (202-83, college: Arizona St.) who recorded 23 points and 6 rebounds and Ramon Gonzalez added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Potros maintains eleventh position with 17-19 record. Newly promoted Titanes keep the sixteenth place with 27 games lost. Potros will face higher ranked Toros (#5) in Nuevo Laredo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
